The INTERNATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, INC. (IMSFI) is a non-profit organization founded by a group of Filipinos who are based in the United States of America and in the Republic of the Philippines. IMSFI is built on a foundation of experience and diverse backgrounds and is dedicated to providing Filipino students with both funding and guidance to help them further their post-secondary education. IMSFI aims to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for outstanding students with significant financial need to reach their fullest potential.

The founders of IMSFI strongly believe in developing the future generation of Filipino leaders . It is a sad fact that financial barriers exist, which prevent many deserving students from continuing their studies. IMSFI aims to reduce these financial barriers in order to provide deserving and needy students to pursue the post-secondary education they need to prepare them for the future and, at the same time, raise the level of educational attainment in the Philippines.

IMSFI is maintained solely by its founders, members, voluntary contributions, and fund raising events. In time, IMSFI will enter the world of grant-making and matching programs with private corporations. Depending on its funds availability, the number of scholarships the IMSFI will award annually may range from one to more than ten.

Scholars will be selected on the basis of academic proficiency, financial need, non-academic activities, and character. Each scholarship will be renewed annually, which will be based on the student’s academic performance.

Members of the IMSFI are committed to the above goals. In order to develop a self-perpetuating scholarship fund which will guarantee success of our goals, allow us to take the opportunity to invite you to join us as a member. If, however, you are not prepared to join us at this time, may we ask you for a gift or donation. Since IMSFI is a tax-free organization, your donation is tax deductible. But more importantly, you will have the personal satisfaction of knowing that you have contributed to a worthy cause.
